Theatre Director

I am a director and dramaturg working mainly in new writing across the UK. I have worked as a director at the Traverse Theatre, Kiln Theatre, National Theatre of Scotland, Tron Theatre, Theatre503, Hampstead Theatre, EastSide Arts and The Bunker Theatre. I am currently part of the 'Convergence' group of writers with Short Circuit.
I am an Associate Director for National Theatre Connections, a member of the Lincoln Center Theater Directors' Lab, and a Leverhulme Arts Scholar via the JMK Trust's Regional Director bursaries. I was a finalist for the JMK Award 2021 and the Sir Peter Hall Award 2021. I was an Associate Artist (Director) for the Traverse Theatre for 18 months from 2021-2023.
I have worked as a script reader for National Theatre of Scotland, Traverse Theatre, Tron Theatre and the Papatango Prize. I run the new writing company View From Here, whose first full-length production of Alice Malseed's Jade City ran for three weeks as part of the Bunker Theatre's Autumn Season 2019.
Most recently, I directed 'This is Paradise' by Michael John O'Neill at the Traverse Theatre. The play received the Popcorn Award and a range of very positive reviews.

Other recent work includes development of 'Wee Buns' by Caitlin Magnall Kearns for the Lyric Theatre Belfast, 'Telegraph Hill' by Alice Malseed and 'Grace Notes', both for View From Here Theatre. My next project is directing 'Everyman' by Carol Ann Duffy' at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
